Weight Watchers for College Kids
Hi there. I'm new to this community and am so excited to have found a group like this! I've done weight watchers in the past and have been successful but, as soon as I go back to school I find that I can't stick with it. Most of my friends are skinny boys who can eat all they want and never gain weight. Since I live with two guys and spend so much time with others, I wind up eating like they do and that definitely doesn't work for me! I'm also a music major which means lots of late nights in the practice room and eating out all of the time. I love to cook but, I wind up going out and eating junk more often than not. And finally, drinking. It's hard to avoid in college and I'm not really willing to give it up.
When I attended weight watchers meetings, I noticed that all of the above problems did not really exist for the other people there because they were mostly 40+ women with 9 to 5 jobs and families to feed.
Anyway, it's a new year and I'm sick and tired of being a fatty. My older sister just passed away and I've spent the past two weeks eating nothing but chocolate and other sweets that people have sent to our house. Then, two days ago I went to the doctor and got a real slap in the face. I weigh more than I ever thought I would weigh in my life and I really need to do something about it...If not just for my health, for the fact that I'm training to become a classical singer and there is an increasing focus on thin opera singers these days.
So, I'm hoping to keep a food diary on livejournal and keep checking up on here to keep myself going!
My current weight is 182 and I'm 5'4"
My long term goal is to be around 135 or 140 lbs.
I'd like to lose 10 lbs in the next month.
